AFRICAN ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS
Travelers are always discoverers, especially those who travel by air. There are no signposts in the air to show a man has passed that way before. There are no channels marked. The flier breaks each second into new uncharted seas.
Anne Morrow Lindbergh, 'North to the Orient,' 1935

Reach out and touch the soul of Africa with an animal encounter. Walk with a lion. Cuddle a cheetah. Experience an elephant safari. Track rhino on foot. Feed a vulture. Swim with sharks and dolphins...
These are some of the unforgettable experiences we can include in your African Animal Encounters itinerary:
- Search for the last remaining gorillas in Africa
In the county Winston Churchill called "The Pearl of Africa", Uganda's Bwindi National Park is home to the last remaining gorillas in Africa. Join a foot trek into the mountains past rivers, lakes and waterfalls in search of the gorillas - an experience you will never forget.
- In search of chimpanzees
Include a visit to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the most beautiful in Africa. Enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, followed by game viewing and hiking in the Kyambura Gorge in search of chimpanzees.
- River rafting on the Nile River
Visit Jinja, the source of the Nile, where you can opt for a river rafting experience to negotiate the white water rapids of Africa's longest river. Or simply take a cruise down the river.
- Elephant trails in Zimbabwe
A half-day elephant back safari in Zimbabwe's Masuwe Estate leads through the pristine bush and valley of the Masuwe River, home to many wild animals including elephant, kudu, buffalo, impala, leopard and even lion. There is excellent birding with over 50 species to be sighted.
Each elephant is under the charge of a handler and the safari is led by a professional guide who is armed and carries a first aid kit and hand-held radio.
- Encounter lions in Zimbabwe
Experience an exciting and unique wildlife adventure in Masuwe Estate near the
Victoria Falls. A half-day lion encounter safari offers the opportunity to interact with a group of lion cubs, ranging in age from three to 16 months. Roam freely with these lions in the riverine vegetation along the banks of the Masuwe River for an unparalleled encounter with this threatened species. You may be lucky enough to witness the young cubs stalk their prey. There are no leashes and no collars. This is a natural African wildlife experience which poses no danger to guests as it is well supervised and professionally managed as part of a unique rehabilitation programme.
